The 2019 vintage was cooler again than 2018 and has yielded the most archetypal cool climate syrah we have ever produced at Nichol. On the tighter more delineated side and even less opulent 2018. The aromatics this year are high toned and delineated and speak to the nuance and sophistication of fruit this vintage has given us. Look for pretty red berries, lilacs and poutpourri, licorice, and the typical game and leather notes we usually see but with greater lift and finesse Again a crunchy intensity and persistence on the palate that will really reward cellaring. Dont let the delicay of this vintage fool you, these wines are built for the cellar. We are very excited. Please decant.

The 2017 vintage was a warm generous vintage much like 2014. We thought it would be nice to release something that is drinking well today even though it will provide plenty of rewards with time in the cellar. This is about 60% Cab Franc and 40% Old Vines Syrah and is one of Ross's favorite wines. It spent almost 3 years in a combination of older barrique and puncheon barrels before being bottled this March and is drinking very well now. Dark matte ruby. Warmed spices, cooked herbs and sweet dark tree fruit on the nose and palate. Full bodied, with rich resolved tannins and enough acidity to keep it lively. Think roast lamb or savoury BBQ dishes. We think a very age worthy vintage (time will tell) we think this will be wonderful over the next 10+ years. Please decant. Drink Now - 2028+

Vibrant ruby. Sweet herbs, fresh berries, some soil and leather and more red tree fruit dominate the nose. Medium bodied with savoury/sweet red fruits and herbs on the palate. Grippy tannins and fresh acidity. This is the brightest and most fruit driven version of our Pinot Noir we have grown in some time and will provide more immediate pleasure than previous vintages. Now – 2026.

Vineyard: 2 acres planted in 2000 up and behind the winery.

Wine Making: Hand-picked on September 26th 2018. Gently de-stemmed in to open top fermenters. Basket pressed with malolactic taking place in neutral French barrique. Raised in Neutral French barrique for 13 months. Racked twice and bottled unfined and unfiltered in March 2018. Now- 2026.

Vibrant ruby in colour. High toned aromatics of lilacs and fennel fronds with a touch of white pepper. Medium bodied and focused palate of ripe red berry fruits, sweet herbs and pepper. This is a fine, detailed version of our young vines that is easy to drink but has intense, crunchy persistence on the palate. Easy to drink now but we see this rewarding at 5 to 8 years in the cellar. Drink Now - 2030

Vineyard: Planted in 20O7 on granite bedrock and glacial till in the southern quadrant of the property. 100% Naramata Village.

Wine Making: Hand-picked on October 15th 2019. De-stemmed. Gentle pigeage during fermentation. Basket pressed. Malolactic occurred in neutral French barrique. Bottled unfined and unfiltered in March 2021.
