2017 CABERNET FRANC + SYRAH
The 2017 vintage was a warm generous vintage much like 2014. We thought it would be nice to release something that is drinking well today even though it will provide plenty of rewards with time in the cellar. This is about 60% Cab Franc and 40% Old Vines Syrah and is one of Ross's favorite wines. It spent almost 3 years in a combination of older barrique and puncheon barrels before being bottled this March and is drinking very well now. Dark matte ruby. Warmed spices, cooked herbs and sweet dark tree fruit on the nose and palate. Full bodied, with rich resolved tannins and enough acidity to keep it lively. Think roast lamb or savoury BBQ dishes. We think a very age worthy vintage (time will tell) we think this will be wonderful over the next 10+ years. Please decant.
